a ride with the valkyries in a theatrical fashion show

To turn a regular fashion show into a performance and storytelling experience, telling of valkyries, gods and nordic mythology. Collaborating with international talent Jim Lyngvild and choreographers from the Royal Danish Theatre to create the show’s creative direction and storyboard: 7 Danish models as leading characters, supported by 26 Chinese models. a theatrical show, challenging traditional catwalk concepts.

Our team were briefed to design and build realistic (yet moveable!) mountains and props that represented the mystical wildness of the Scandinavian mountains. Collaborating with a professional stage design construction team for the renderings to fit inside the 4th floor dome of an old slaughterhouse – Shanghai’s legendary 1933 building. Due to the unconventional venue, auditorium seating had to be designed to fit the 600 visitors of the show, with all production designed to fit into a single limited elevator.
